Swim Lesson Levels

Novice: (No Experience: Ages 5 and under, optional parent in H2O) 

Focus is on foundation skills, for children who are timid or new to swimming. Must be toilet trained. Skills taught:

  • Safety

  • Getting comfortable in the water

  • Breathing mechanics

  • Floating

  • Kicking

  • Going underwater

Cadet:

Review of novice skills. Children are instructed in a phased approach focusing on streamline, stroke work and positioning development. Progressing skills and running drills for: 

  • Backstroke

  • Freestyle

  • Bi-Lateral breathing (rotational breathing)

  • Breaststroke

Prefect:

Lifeguard prep: introduction to lifeguard swim strokes (side stroke, elementary backstroke, head-high swimming), cpr, first aid, and lifesaving/rescue drills. Please note, this is not a certification course.  This level is designed to help prep skilled swimmers (interested in lifeguarding) for becoming familiar with the required skills/knowledge of a lifeguard.
