FAQs about the 2011 swim and tennis lessons for kids

I'm a member. How can I be sure to get a spot for my kids in the lessons?

Timberwyck Member will be given preferred enrollment until May 15th. Register early to get the best choices for your kids. After May 15th non-members will be enrolling.

How many children will be in each class?

  • Tennis will have up to six per instructor.
  • All lessons are by ability and/or age group.

How do I know what swim level/class to enroll my child?

  • Beginner I (3 and up)
For children who are timid or new to swimming.
Skills taught: nose/mouth bubbles, going under water, back float, glide on stomach, jumping in and freestyle (front crawl) alternate arms.
  • Beginner II (5 and up)
For children who are comfortable and go under water.
Progressing skills taught: more freestyle, backstroke, alternate breathing, treading water, preparation for deep-end test (swim 2 lengths of pool, tread water for 1 min.)
  • Intermediate
For those who can pass the deep-end test, see Beginner II.

  • Advanced, age 11+

Who are the instructors?

Our swim instructors are our very own lifeguards who your children know and love.

Our tennis instructor is Springton pro Keith Fox. All instruction is geared for your child's pleasure, exploration, and learning at an incredible value.

Why are we inviting non-members to take lessons?

To promote membership at Timberwyck and provide a service to our local community while earning revenue for the benefit of our club.

Why are we offering guest passes to the community, shouldn't they pay for a full membership like us?

As a courtesy, we are allowing non-members to visit on the day of a lesson using guest passes which are pre-purchased, 10 for $70. This courtesy reminds non-members that they are not invited to stay and swim without passes and encourages them to try out the pool and consider membership.

What is the pricing advantage for members?

Non-members pay a $15 registration fee per child for the season.
